Welcome to Cary!
Cary, North Carolina - One of the Best Places to Live in the US. Often cited as Money Magazine's top ten places to live in the country, Cary, North Carolina is located in the Piedmont region of the US near North Carolina's Research Triangle Park. Raleigh, Durham and Chapel Hill make up the three primary cities of the Research Triangle metropolitan region (commonly known as the "Triangle") even though today Cary is the 3rd largest municipality in the metropolitan area. It is also one of the fastest growing municipalities in the United States. It has a well-earned reputation as a community for affluent transplants from outside the South. Cary is consistently named one of the safest places to live both regionally and nationally. The FBI released crime data in 2013 that named it among all cities with populations of 100,000-500,000 as having one of the lowest crime rates in the country. Over two-thirds of Cary residents hold an associates degree or higher and 60.7% of adults possess a bachelor's degree or higher. In the last five years alone Cary's population has grown by 20,000. Drawn to the Triangle by top employers, great educational opportunities, and the low crime rate, folks from all of the country are moving to Cary in droves.
